Pictures from ISAF: working with China to distribute humanitarian aid

The efforts of ISAF and the Afghan authorities to restore Kabul International Airport to full functionality have allowed ever increasing quantities of humanitarian aid to arrive. A particularly valuable consignment of aid from the People's Republic of China began arriving at Kabul airport on 25 March - some 540 tonnes of medical supplies, blankets and clothing. Chinese Ilyushin-76 transport aircraft arrived heavily laden, to be met by ISAF personnel and vehicles from Germany, Denmark, Italy, Spain and the UK ready to distribute the aid to hospitals and schools around Kabul.
